Fall Wedding Photos in Wisconsin
This past Fall I had the absolute honor to capture Maribel & Nick’s special day. For those of you who don’t know, I currently live in Illinois just outside of the beautiful windy city of Chicago! In 2023 me and my partner are planning on relocating to Milwaukee, Wisconsin while still capturing love stories in Illinois. Since the decision to move to Wisconsin, I have been able to capture so many love stories that were originally outside of my scope. Now I’ve been given the opportunity to see so many gorgeous wedding venues in Wisconsin, this being one of them. For Maribel & Nick’s wedding day, they really wanted to have a rustic charm on the traditional wedding. These Fall wedding photos in Wisconsin are next level amazing and I am beyond excited to be sharing them with you today.
Getting Ready
We started off the day with Maribel and her bridesmaids getting ready. Since it was Fall, the matching robes that all the bridesmaids wore all pulled inspiration from the beautiful autumnal colors. It’s typically during the time when the bride & bridesmaids are getting ready is when I go ahead and take some detail photos!
Tip: Before the day of your wedding, gather up all of your wedding details in a box so as soon as your photographer arrives we can begin photographing them! This not only saves you the stress of gathering everything the morning of, but it helps make our job easier too. Some examples of wedding day details can include:
Jewelry / Hair Accessories
Shoes
Wedding Dress
Matching robes / slippers / pajamas
Stationary / Invitations
Floral arrangements
Momentos
Jewelry boxes
and more!
After finishing up with details, Maribel was getting her dress fitted and ready. My jaw basically dropped when I saw her slip on this dress. Everything from the sleeves to the gorgeous mermaid style of the dress to the lace pattern and veil. I am still trying to recover here LOL. Maribel and her bridesmaids looked absolutely stunning and I just couldn’t wait for Nick to see her.
Close by, Nick was getting ready with his groomsmen which usually consists of everyone laughing & goofing off to lighten the mood. Prior to getting ready, Maribel & Nick exchanged wedding gifts. Maribel gave Nick this incredible compass that expressed her love for him and I just about died when I saw it. The sweet sentiment is one that I know that Nick will cherish forever.

Now since Nick and Maribel opted out of a first look, before we knew it the ceremony was here! Their wedding venue was in this gorgeous white barn that really gave off those rustic-chic vibes that they were going for. Those autumnal colors that we found with the bridesmaids dresses followed into the theme for the rest of the wedding. The wedding arch was decorated with vibrant orange, red and white flowers with a touch of greenery and really stood out against all of the white decor of the venue.
Nick stood there waiting for Maribel with so much anticipation. He just couldn’t wait to be reunited with his beautiful bride-to-be. So just like that, Maribel walked through the doors and a universal gasp happened amongst all of their wedding guests. She looked absolutely stunning as she walked down the aisle. For their ceremony they decided to have it unplugged. For those of you who don’t know what an unplugged ceremony is, it’s essentially a ceremony with no cell phone usage. Flash photos, noises & text tones can distract from the main moment: two lovers getting married. Especially if the couple has hired a professional photographer to take photos, cell phones can also become distracting and block so many beautiful shots. So if you’re thinking of having an unplugged ceremony, these are a few of the things you should keep in mind!
As Nick and Maribel stood there and said there vows, I was over here catching every second of it. Just a few moments later, in a blink of an eye they exchanged rings and were officially pronounced husband and wife. Seriously these moments can pass you by so quickly, so cherish every moment of it.
Fall Wedding Portraits
Once the ceremony was done, we made our way upstairs to this gorgeous balcony area inside the venue. There is where we took some portraits with their wedding party and some solo photos of the beautiful bride & groom. Both of them were absolute naturals in front of the camera and looked so beautiful… seriously I just can’t stop staring at Maribel’s wedding dress!
Reception
Not long after, we made our way back downstairs where the ceremony space had been flipped for their reception. Following the theme of those burnt oranges and fall tones, the decor was just stunning. A big focus for this wedding were the florals and keeping things still in the boho, rustic-chic type vibe.
Maribel & Nick walked in hand in hand and were greeted by all of their wedding guests holding glow wands. Yes, you read that right. Glow wands! On top of the normal wedding traditions such as speeches & cake cutting we had a slight intermission for a special performance. A mariachi band came and did this amazing performance in celebration of the newlyweds and was FANTASTIC. Seriously, why doesn’t everyone have one attend their wedding?
After settling in, Nick and Maribel made their way to center stage to wow the wedding guests with a beautiful choreographed dance. Oh and get this… they had a FOG MACHINE. Top 10 coolest weddings ever? I think so. Once first dances were done, I was able to sneak the newlyweds away outside to get a few more solo portraits. We walked through the orchard and really let them have as much alone time as possible, through all of the craziness of the day.
I packed up my camera bag but was so sad to leave such a fun wedding. Maribel & Nick were such an amazing couple to capture and I feel so honored to have been there to catch such special moments for them to cherish forever. Cheers to the happy couple!
