Stacey and Shawn met through Stacey’s high school best friends brothers, but their paths didn’t cross until 2013 when Shawn was home on leave from the army. They spent those two weeks together on and off, but eventually shawn had to go back to his station and stacey back to college. They continued to text during their time apart and about a month later decided to make things official! Their life together often includes time spent with their family and friends hanging out over a bonfire or attending their bowling league. Stacey and Shawn are also huge homebodies so they spend a lot of time playing video games, cooking and playing with their dog Bodie!

Getting Ready

Stacey and her girls got ready at her sister’s house while surrounded by all her dear friends and family. Stacey planned on doing a first look with her girls and it was truly breathtaking. There was not a dry eye in the room when her girls saw her for the first time.

Shawn was busy getting ready with the guys at his parent’s house. His father helped get him ready while the rest of the guys goofed off. They all ran up on Shawn for a big bear hug, which totally caught Shawn off guard loll.

The Ceremony

Their ceremony and reception was held at Southern Charm Barn. It was a ridiculously windy day, but thankfully their ceremony was scheduled to be indoors. Their close friend and officiant, had VERY sweet words to share about these two. At one point she mentioned how she talked to Stacey’s nephew about his perspective on marriage and what he thought about his aunt and soon to be uncle finally getting married. to say he was excited is an understatement! Their beautifully written vows brought everyone to tears.

The Reception

Stacey and Shawn opted to stick with the traditionals and did all the formal first dances! I am such a sucker for the Father / Daughter dances, buutt Stacey’s dad took it up a knotch by surprising the couple with a very thoughtful slideshow. It included lots of photos of them growing up, their eppic halloween costumes, shawns service in the army, and a beautiful montage of their relationship together from the beginning to current day.

And then it was party time!!! this dance floor was LIT! I think the best part was when the DJ played ‘Stacey’s Mom’ and they all rocked out on the dance floor to that classic hit. There were also a few fun props floating around that made for great photo ops!
